About

Welcome to my blog, An Emerging Perspective. The posts here will mainly consist of quotes from fathers of the catholic (meaning universal, not Roman Catholic) Christian Church, such as Augustine and Athanasius, Reformers, such as Martin Luther and John Calvin, and modern theologians, such as Douglas Wilson and John Piper. Along with these quotes, I will post a few of my own writings and observations. Papers that I write for school or for fun will also be posted here.

So, about myself. I am a student at a classical Christian school here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, called Sequitur (which means “to follow” in Latin) Classical Tutorials. I have recently found myself with a growing interest in church history and theology, and love to debate/discuss both of those, the later in particular. I tend to be slightly provocative in what I say, because I enjoy controversy, so take what I say with a small grain of salt. I am a four-point-Calvinist (T, U, I, P), a moderate continuationist in regards to the Spiritual Gifts, and most importantly, a Christian.

Politically, I tend to be a libertarian. I enjoy discussing social issues, particularly Gay Rights and drugs.

Well, I hope you enjoy this blog. Let me know what you think: how I can improve, etc.

Thanks for your time!
In Christ,
Lucas.

  1. It’s about time. Looks like my toolbar has a new ‘favorites’ page. And Drew, where did you get that neat magenta sparkle? Pretty sure that’s the symbol for international women’s soccer. (insert: laughing emoticon, with a ponytail)

  2. Dude, it gave me one too! Thankfully mine more resembles the symbol for men’s international synchronized swimming. I wonder what it will do with this post when I click ‘post comment’. Here goes…

  3. Really enjoyed the short story, presentation and defense last night. I was wondering, will your short stories be posted here as well? If they are and I’m just not seeing it, my apologies.
